Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DocsBuddy mobile application and website at docsbuddy.mytechbytes.in (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
DocsBuddy helps you track physical assets and their important dates, store related documents, and share them with family members. The Service is provided to help you stay organised; it is your responsibility to verify renewal dates and act on them. DocsBuddy is a reminder tool, not a guarantee that any deadline will be met.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content.
- Upload material you do not have the right to store or share.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data.
- Misuse family-sharing features to access data without the owner's consent.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the assets, documents and data you add ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you and the family members you authorise. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of Your Content.
5. Family sharing
When you create or join a family, members you invite can view and, depending on their role, edit shared assets, dates and documents. You are responsible for whom you invite. Removing a member stops their future access to shared data.
6. Notifications
The Service sends reminders via push, email or WhatsApp based on your settings. Delivery depends on third-party networks and your device, and may be delayed or fail for reasons outside our control. Do not rely solely on DocsBuddy for time-critical or legally significant deadlines.
7. Third-party services
The Service uses third-party platforms (including Supabase and Firebase Cloud Messaging) to function. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
8. Availability & changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time, and may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that reminders will always be delivered on time.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocsBuddy and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from missed deadlines, lost data, or reliance on reminders. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in India shall have jurisdiction over any disputes, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
